KLM is losing its managing director and chief financial officer, Rob Ruijter after just three years.

Mr Ruijter has decided to take the role of chief financial officer of VNU nv, a global information and media company.

President and chief executive officer of KLM, Leo van Wijk said: “Rob Ruijter has made an important contribution to KLM, and in particular in the Air France – KLM merger process. However, following the merger’s successful completion, he indicated that he wishes to pursue his career outside KLM.”

Following his departure, Mr Ruijter’s role will be split, with his financial and control responsibilities being offered to a successor and his remaining responsibilities being divided among the other three board members.
