LaGuardia Airport AirTrain gets FAA green light
The Federal Aviation Administration granted final approval for the AirTrain linking Manhattan to LaGuardia Airport. The approval allows the $2 billion project to get federal funding.
The elevated 1.5-mile section would connect the airport to a train stop at Citi Field, home of the New York Mets, which is connected to the Long Island Rail Road and the.No. 7 subway line..
LaGuardia Airport is the only major airport on the East Coast without a major rail link.
