Las Vegas thanks Harry for nude romp
Prince Harry’s royal romp in Las Vegas has been applauded by the gambling mecca’s tourism sector.
Photos of the prince’s nude billiard game resulted in the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority placing a full-page ad touting Las Vegas in USA Today; a doubling of searches for local resorts on hotels.com, and a new $25 hamburger at a Las Vegas Strip eatery.
Local media report that Prince Harry’s antics have "created a buzz about Las Vegas that money can’t buy".
Kate Hopcraft of hotels.com said, “Vegas has long since been the party capital of the world, and it seems that recent events have led to a resurgence in people’s desire to go there and let off steam, just as Prince Harry has."
Hotels.com said online traffic from the United Kingdom, “which is absolutely enamoured with Las Vegas", was up 123%.
Searches originating in Canada spiked 118%, and hits from within the United States were up 87%.
A Las Vegas gourmet hamburger restaurant, I Love Burgers, on Friday debuted “The Exposed Prince,” a burger that features a ground Kobe beef patty, Cheddar cheese, garlic and onion chutney, a fried egg and HP sauce served on a pretzel bun.
