LATAM to offer business class suite on single-aisle aircraft

LATAM Airlines Group recently announced that its future Airbus A321XLR aircraft will feature a Premium Business cabin with full-flat seats. It will make it the first airline in South America to offer this type of experience on single-aisle aircraft.

The new Airbus A321XLR aircraft will start deliveries in 2027, and will have a capacity for more than 170 passengers, distributed across Premium Business and Economy cabins. The new Premium Business cabin will introduce a 1-1 configuration delivering 100% direct aisle access, elevating the standard of travel on this type of aircraft. The Economy Class Cabin will feature a 3-3 configuration .

LATAM Airlines Group will introduce a renewed onboard experience featuring Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth and, for the first time in its single-aisle fleet, an inflight entertainment system with individual screens.

The Airbus A321XLR allows us to take our value proposition to the next level and elevate the travel experience for our passengers. We are introducing a Premium Business cabin on single-aisle aircraft, with long-haul standards of comfort, connectivity and privacy, and a design inspired by South America. This allows us to offer more travel options, strengthen our network, and deliver a more consistent experience for our passengers,” said Paulo Miranda, Chief Customer Officer at LATAM Airlines Group.

The Airbus A321XLR represents an important step in LATAM Group’s fleet growth and modernization strategy. Thanks to its greater range — more than 50% higher than other members of the A320neo Family — these aircraft will enable the group to launch new routes and strengthen connectivity between South America and more distant destinations. In this context, LATAM already has a commitment for more than 10 A321XLR aircraft, with the first deliveries scheduled to begin in 2027.

The announcement was made during Aircraft Interiors Expo, one of the leading international trade fairs for the industry. During the event, LATAM unveiled a teaser of the new onboard experience for its A321XLR aircraft, featuring Thompson Aero Seating’s VantageSOLO Suite for the Premium Business cabin and Recaro’s R3 seat for Economy. The design concept seeks to reflect the spirit of South America, with a contemporary aesthetic inspired by the region’s landscapes, materials and contrasts.

With this addition, LATAM Group continues to advance its fleet modernization strategy and ongoing enhancement of the travel experience, reinforcing its commitment to a world-class standard in South America and consolidating its position as the leading airline group in the region, with one of the largest fleets in the world and a projection of 410 aircraft by the end of 2026.
