Living Art at AIME

Tuesday, 6 February 20073 min read

If anyone is going to make a strong impression at next week’s Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre it will be Sarawak.

Sarawakian musician and artist Mathew Ngau Jau will be performing on the Tourism Malaysia stand at AIME.

In addition to his daily musical performances, Mathew will share the tattoo culture of the dayak people of Sarawak.

Tattooing is not only associated with many aspects of daily life but reflects spiritual beliefs and life after death. During AIME, Mathew will hand draw temporary traditional tattoos – allowing visitors to the Malaysia stand to become a piece of living art.

And for those who want more, in association with Visit Malaysia Year 2007, the 2nd Borneo International Tattoo Convention will be held in Sibu, Sarawak from June 29–July 1.
