Loganair to launch Jersey flights from Newcastle
Loganair will launch direct services between Newcastle and Jersey for the summer season.
Two weekly flights will start on 28 May, operating on a Friday and Saturday, with a Tuesday service added from 6 July.
The route will operate until 26 October.
Tickets go on sale today with fares from £75.99 one-way.
The service adds to the Glasgow-based airline’s growing summer 2021 commitment to Jersey, with schedules already in place from Teesside International, Norwich, Edinburgh and Isle of Man.
Loganair also operates to Aberdeen, Bergen, Exeter, Newquay, Southampton and Stavanger from Newcastle.
Loganair Chief Commercial Officer, Kay Ryan, said: "We are very excited by the potential of this new route, and believe it will prove extremely popular as it is increasingly likely that British holidaymakers’ options will be unfortunately severely limited this year.
"The route will ensure customers from two airports in the North East have access to one of the most beautiful and popular holiday destinations in the British Isles, one which provides more than a hint of being overseas with its French place names and climate.
"This addition to next summer’s schedule shows Loganair’s continued commitment to providing domestic connectivity for both leisure and business customers, despite the severe damage being caused to the aviation industry by the Covid-19 pandemic."
Ports of Jersey Chief Executive, Matt Thomas, said: "We are delighted to announce another step forward in our partnership with Loganair, with the launch of this service to Newcastle.
"Despite these challenging times, the demand for Jersey as a holiday destination remains strong among visitors, whilst it also enables residents the opportunity of visiting much missed family and friends in the UK.
"We are working hard to ensure that when the day comes that travel restrictions are lifted, Jersey will be well-placed to reap the benefits that connectivity brings to our tourism and hospitality sector."
