Loganair’s new London Heathrow slots a ‘game changer’
Regional carrier Loganair is shifting its Public Service Obligation air services from Derry and Dundee into London Heathrow.
The change takes effect from 6 May 2023.
This is possible as Loganair has recently gained additional access to slots at London Heathrow.
Subject to government approval, it moves the Dundee service from London City and City of Derry service from London Stansted.
Bothe services fly into Heathrow’s Terminal Two.
As well as providing easier access to the capital it opens up a huge range of new air links via LHR for both regions.
Customers can book through connections to and from Derry via Heathrow to 119 destinations in 56 countries.
From Dundee via London Heathrow there are options to 97 destinations in 45 countries.
They include destinations across Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia Pacific.
Same-plane services from Kirkwall and Sumburgh via Dundee to London will also move to Heathrow.
“The move to Heathrow truly is a gamechanger for UK regional air services,” said Loganair CEO Jonathan Hinkles.
The moves to London Heathrow will open up more seats with additional flights to and from City of Derry and more seats available on existing flights to and from Dundee.
