London Luton Airport enjoys busiest month since pandemic

London Luton Airport (LLA) just enjoyed its busiest month since the pandemic began
It welcomed almost 1.2 million passengers in April, cementing the airport’s continued recovery.
By comparison, LLA welcomed just 106,000 passengers in April 2021.
Short stay city breaks have been in high demand over the Easter half-term with Amsterdam topping the list of most popular destinations, followed by Bucharest, Budapest, Warsaw, and Tirana.
This summer, holidaymakers have a choice of 130 different destinations from LLA, with the Greek island of Kefalonia becoming the latest addition with easyJet’s maiden flight on 30 June.
In preparation for its busiest summer since 2019, the airport is actively recruiting people for roles across security, retail, customer service and hospitality, as well as roles related to the Direct Air-Rail Transit (DART) system
This will link the airport terminal with Luton Airport Parkway railway station.
Alberto Martin, CEO of LLA, said: “The launch of new destinations is a clear signal that LLA is truly back in business for this summer.”
