London Stansted expects 400,000 half-term holiday travellers
London Stansted expects about 400,000 passengers to fly during the October half-term holiday.
It projects more than 800,000 passengers n and out between Friday, October 21, and Sunday, October 30.
Friday, October 21, will be the busiest day, which coincides with schools across the region breaking up for the holidays.
Turkey, the Canaries, Spain, and Portugal are the top destinations for short-haul holidays, while Dubai is also popular.
Ahead of the getaway, the airport is reminding passengers to plan ahead to streamline their journey through the terminal.
Jonathan Fowler, London Stansted’s Chief Operating Officer, said:” Following on from what was our busiest summer season for three years, we are now gearing up for what we anticipate to being a very busy half-term holiday.”
“We expect more than 800,000 passengers to pass through Stansted during the week, so to minimise any unnecessary delays at the airport, we recommend that passengers prepare for the security checks before leaving home.”
It recommends checking for any road or rail disruptions that could affect their journey and allow more time.
