Love Island sparks surge in Majorca searches
Searches for Majorca on TravelSupermarket jumped 94% during last week’s launch of the ITV2 reality show Love Island
The holiday comparison website recorded the surge when the fourth series of the programme aired at 9pm on Monday, pulling in over 3 million viewers.
It wasn’t the only website to chart a rise in demand as a result of the popular show, which sees couples paired off in a luxury villa on the Balearic island.
Wowcher said searches on its website jumped 74% while eDreams reported a 23% increase.
