Lufthansa settles price fix claim
Lufthansa has agreed to pay $85m (£45.6m) to settle legal action in the US surrounding allegations of price fixing in cargo haulage.
In February, the US and European Union began investigating more than a dozen airlines over suspected collusion to fix prices on surcharges for fuel, security and insurance.
Lufthansa’s settlement deal is subject to court approval and will end pending class action lawsuits.
The airline has also won conditional immunity in the US and from the EU.
Other airlines questioned as part of the investigation include American Airlines, United Airlines, SAS, AirFrance KLM, British Airways and Cargolux.
