Luxury operator goes bust
Peterborough-based ATOL-registered travel company ER Marketing, which traded under the names 5 Senses Travel and Inspirational Travel, has ceased trading.
The company took bookings via the websites 5senses-travel.com and inspirational-travel.com.
Inspirational Travel specialised in tailormade luxury long-haul holidays, including safaris, weddings and honeymoons.
The CAA said customers who bought packages and who hold scheduled flight tickets might still be able to travel, but they are advised to check with their airlines. If they opt to travel, they might have to pay again for other elements of the holiday, including accommodation, and claim refunds from the Air Travel Trust fund.
If they no longer wish to use their flights, they can claim refunds for the cost of their holiday. Passengers without valid tickets can also claim refunds.
ER Marketing was run by Stephen Ralph Daykin, who was company secretary of The Curzon Corporation, which owns African Pride and Inspired by Asia, until 1999. He was previously a director of six other companies, including Safari Desk and Union-Castle Travel, which have since been dissolved.
London-based Turkey specialist Mert Selim also failed earlier this month. The company owned Parade Travel, Gezinet London and toursinturkey.com.
These are the first ATOL company collapses since Monarch ceased trading in January.
