Macau casinos bounce back
After a year in the doldrums, Macau casinos have bounced back in a big way. Gross gambling revenues surged nearly 500% last month compared to May 2020.
It is at the highest level this year thanks to a strong Golden Week holiday period. The Macao tourism office said some 167,000 visitors came to the city from China for the holiday in early May.
Wynn Resorts said it brought in $3 million of adjusted EBITDA per day during Golden Week.
