Macau hotel exec arrested in vice ring bust
A prominent hotel executive in Macau has been arrested and accused of being the mastermind of a prostitution ring operating out of a landmark hotel.
Alan Ho, a nephew of casino tycoon Stanley Ho, was arrested along with five hotel managers and 96 prostitutes during a vice raid on Hotel Lisboa at the weekend, according to a report by Radio Macau.
Alan Ho is a senior executive at the hotel and a former president of the Macau Travel Association.
The prostitution syndicate is alleged to have used about 100 rooms at the hotel for their operation, and generated about $50 million for charging a ‘protection fee’ to each of the women.
A large sum of cash was also recovered at the hotel.
The investigating officers allege the vice ring sourced women online from the Chinese mainland and arranged for them to travel to Macau.
