An investigation is underway after a man was caught trying to smuggle a Vietnamese child from France into the Port of Dover in a suitcase.
The boy, believed to be aged 16, was found inside the case in the boot of a silver Skoda Octavia when the car was searched by UK Border Force officials.
The teenager was immediately taken to hospital in a life threatening condition but police later said he has improved.
Andrei Iancu, 20, from Buzau in Romania, has been charged with attempting to smuggle a person into the UK.
