Manchester Airport has signed up as the main stage sponsor at this year’s 10th Newcastle Pride 2017.

Last year’s festival attracted more than 73,000 visitors and contributed more than £10.4m to the economy in 2016 and organisers are planning a bigger line up for 2017, when the festival takes place from July 21-23 at Newcastle Town Moor.

Manchester Airport head of marketing Patrick Alexander said: "We have sponsored other Prides in the UK and thought it was time to widen our reach to showcase the great work undertaken by Manchester Airport, with many of our passengers coming from the North East.

"With the new direct rail service to our train station, Manchester Airport is now closer than ever for residents of Newcastle."
