Manchester and Stansted airport bosses swap roles
Manchester Airports Group has swapped the chief executives at its Manchester and Stansted airports and has appointed a new chief of staff.
Stansted Airport CEO Andrew Cowan is to replace Ken O’Toole as CEO of Manchester Airport, while O’Toole will take Cowan’s job at Stansted.
The swap will come into place in September.
For Cowan, the move up north will be his second spell at the helm of Manchester. He was chief operating officer and managing director of the airport between 2013 and 2015.
He is well known in the North West business community, having held roles including chair of BITC North West.
He will oversee the start of construction on the £1bn Manchester Airport Transformation Programme (MANTP), which will provide the UK’s third biggest airport with a world-class terminal facility to allow it to make use of its two full-length runways.
Meanwhile, Collette Roche has been named chief of staff for MAG, which will give her responsibility for shaping the development of the group’s strategy and leading some of the key corporate functions.
She will retain her position as a board member of the Northern Powerhouse Partnership.
