Margaritaville is bringing its first resort to the West Coast.
The brand will plant its flag in San Diego with an upcoming conversion of the Paradise Point Resort & Spa at Vacation Island in Mission Bay.
The Margaritaville Island Resort San Diego is slated to open in 2020 following a $35 million refresh.
It will have 462 casita-style rooms, signature Margaritaville dining, a spa, fitness center and meeting space.
The hotel’s five pools will also be updated.
"We expect a dramatic improvement in financial performance of Paradise Point upon reflagging, consistent with other Margaritaville branded resorts," said Jon E. Bortz, president and chief executive officer of Pebblebrook Hotel Trust.
"Our island resort offers a unique San Diego beach experience."
Pebblebrook acquired the property last year.
Pebblebrook will assist in the transition process alongside the current management company, Davidson Hotels & Resorts.
