Marriott International is expanding its presence in the Asia Pacific luxury market with 13 new hotels set to open this year.
JW Marriott, Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, and Luxury Collection brands will all expand in APAC, joining its current portfolio of 130 luxury properties in the region.
"Asia Pacific’s luxury travel industry is one of the fastest-growing in the world, driven by markets like China and India," said Peggy Fang Roe, Marriott Asia Pacific chief sales and marketing officer.
Upcoming openings include four new Ritz-Carlton hotels.
The Ritz-Carlton, Perth opens its doors in October and marks a return to Australia for the brand.
The JW Marriott brand will see five additions including Asia’s first JW Marriott Marquis Hotel in Shanghai which is slated to open next month.
Furthermore, the Luxury Collection will introduce new hotels to Nanjing, China and Kolkata, India this year.
