Marriott’s QuickGroup aimed at small meetings
Marriott says booking rooms for small groups is much easier with its new QuickGroup.
It’s an online booking tool that allows small group customers to enter the dates and location of their meeting, then check availability for group room blocks online.
“We sell the way the customer wants to buy,” David Marriott, senior vice president of global sales, said in a statement, “and more and more, people, including small group planners and social business planners, want the convenience of buying online 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”
Using Marriott’s new tool, customers can search worldwide for room blocks of between 10 and 25 rooms for up to seven nights. They can compare group room rates at any Marriott brand hotel, including participating Marriott, Renaissance, JW Marriott, Courtyard, Residence Inn, SpringHill Suites, Fairfield Inn and TownePlace Suites hotels.
While meeting planners can already view dimensions and floor plans for hotels’ meeting space online, Marriott hopes to expand QuickGroup in the near future to allow planners to electronically book meeting rooms and banquet halls.
