Massive frightening news this week but there are fun things too

THIS WEEK’S VISION: Overshadowing the news this week is the potential destruction of the human race, but let’s enjoy a bit of fun while we can

So both the World Meteorological Organisation and the United Nations agree that not only are we not going to fulfil our Paris pledges but that the problem is getting even bigger. It now looks like we’ll be in the proverbial muck by 2030 – and that’s within our lifetime. No more chance to kick the problem down the road to our grandchildren. See the story Climate crisis – double whammy- greenhouse gas levels reach record highs – airlines escape  HERE:

In any case as the problem of extinction is getting bigger – so is the cost. Mr Trump’s government has told him that it’s going to cost the US trillions ‘I don’t believe it’ he responds

On a happier note the travel industry’s own techie unicorn Airbnb has engaged what3words to help locate nomad homestays – great for Mongolians!  How do you find a homestay run by nomads?

And Hurtigurten is to put its force behind sustainability by using dead fish as fuel. Expedition cruise liners driven by dead fish

Whilst Iberostar is engaging with the 150,000,000 tons of plastic waste in the sea. Well it is increasing by about 10 million tons a year so a concerted effort is called for They want to create a  Wave of change

And the Saudis are creating a lovely desert ecotourism project that honours their environment and that we can all enjoy. Saudi Arabia goes for ecotourism

Anyway if you want to get away from it all why not get some peace and tranquillity in a Japanese temple where The ultimate in mindfulness has been unveiled

Alternatively you can get away to Botswana before the Global Sustainable Tourism Council has its meeting there as Botswana joins big boys

Or, go on a fabulous FAM to the Heart of Italy to See the gentle centre of the tourism world

But why should we worry after all China will be in charge of tourism and the whole Silk Road by 2030 – China will be world top by 2030  … and as we already know it’s looking for  World domination through tourism

Have a lovely week
