MAXjet failure prompts surge in interest in ABTA Protection Plan

Wednesday, 23 January 20083 min read

International Protection Plan is reporting a surge in interest from agents following the collapse of MAXjet.

The plan protects agents’ customers from any possible future scheduled airline failure, plus other travel arrangements not protected by existing bonding.

Paul McLean, director of IPP said: “The MAXjet case once again highlights the need to provide consumers with financial protection, not just for airline tickets, but also other connected ground arrangements.

“The ABTA Protection Plan therefore offers members the chance to provide protection for all elements of their customer’s trip.”

ABTA added that cover is also provided as a section under the ABTASure Travel Insurance to encourage insurance sales.
