MBEs awarded to three CAA staff

Three members of the Civil Aviation Authority received MBEs in this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours List.

Head of ATOL and crisis management Andy Cohen was awarded an MBE for services to aviation.

Head of airline licensing David Kendrick and chief medical officer Sally Evans also received MBEs.

Norman Springford, former executive chairman of Apex Hotels, received an OBE for services to Scottish culture and tourism.

Diana Owen, former director of The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, was awarded an OBE for services to culture and tourism.

MBEs were also awarded to:

– Alistair Handyside, chairman of the South West Tourism Alliance, for voluntary service to the tourism sector in the south west

– Moira Henderson, who owns self-catering property The Rings, for services to accessible tourism in Fife

– John Mathers, owner of Newforge House guesthouse, for services to hospitality and tourism in Northern Ireland

– Stephen Bird, head of heritage for Bath and North East Somerset Council, for services to museums, heritage and tourism.
