Mileage programs going to the dogs?

Mileage awards have trickled down to bus travel, with Greyhound starting its first membership mileage program called Road Rewards.
Passengers, ala American Airlines and its first airline mileage award program two decades ago, can now earn points for purchasing Greyhound tickets online. They can also apply points to free trips, discounts on companion fares and for food in Greyhound terminals.
As an added bonus, customers earn a 10% discount on their next ticket purchase for signing up for the rewards program.
For every 16 one-way trips or eight roundtrip tickets, members earn one free roundtrip tickets.
So far, there have been recorded complaints about blackout dates.
