United Airlines has apologised after flying a US rapper’s dog to the wrong city.

Rapper ScHoolboy Q had booked the airline to fly his new French bulldog from Missouri to Burbank, California, but the dog was accidentally switched during a stop-off in Denver and ended up in Chicago.

When the rapper arrived at the airport to pick him up, he was given someone else’s pet, according to a report in the Daily Mail.

ScHoolboy Q tweeted: "You guys r idiots @united HOW U PUT MY DOG ON THE WRONG FLIGHT???? I need answers."

Later he posted on Snapchat to say he and the dog, Yeeerndamean had been reunited.

United said: "We have been in touch with our customer to sincerely apologise for this mistake and are providing a refund."
