Monarch signals return to selling via GDS
Monarch has appointed Stuart Bailey as head of airlines sales with immediate effect.
Bailey joins from Redjet, a Caribbean low fares start up airline, having previously established sales and distribution networks for airlines in the UK and overseas including Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Nigeria Airways and Air Aviation Management Ltd.
Reporting to group business development director Stuart Jackson, Bailey will be instrumental in managing the Monarch Group’s imminent return to selling via the GDS, with an initial focus on the Airline.
Commenting on the appointment, Jackson said: "The GDS is an increasingly significant route to market for Monarch and the Airline’s imminent return to selling through this channel is an important step in providing the trade with easier access to Monarch flight inventory.
"Stuart joins the Group with a wealth of experience in developing sales and distribution networks and will be responsible for opening up and driving sales through these new business avenues."
