It will join MSC Lirica which is currently home ported in Tianjin for the winter season.
With a capacity of more than 4,000 guests, it will be among the largest ships serving China
"MSC Splendida represents a second, strong step towards meeting the growing demand for our unique product and ultra-modern ships by Chinese guests," said MSC Cruises CEO Gianni Onorato at a Beijing press conference.
"Deploying MSC Splendida to the shores of China is a further testimony of our commitment to this key growth market."
The company recently opened an office in Shanghai and appointed Helen Huang as president of MSC Greater China.
Itinerary details for MSC Splendida will be announced at a later date but will serve ports across China, Japan and Korea.
