MSC Cruises has introduced new crew member ZOE – the first ever virtual personal assistant for the cruise industry.

Developed in collaboration with HARMAN and Samsung Electronics, ZOE is able to converse in seven languages and respond to hundreds of cruise-related questions.

Guests simply start a conversation by saying ‘OK ZOE’.

The voice-enabled artificial intelligence tool will be available in every stateroom and launches on MSC Bellissima.

It will then be rolled out on each new ship in the future including MSC Grandiosa and MSC Virtuosa which launch in 2019 and 2020 respectively.

MSC Cruises CEO Gianni Onorato said: "There was a core guest need to be met, which was to find answers to common questions in a quick and easy way, enabling guests to make the most of their vacation. We researched the latest connected technologies and identified voice assistants and Artificial Intelligence as the way to meet this need."
