Holiday Autos chief executive officer Brian Murphy is to leave the company to “pursue a new career challenge.”
Murphy, who is also an executive board member at parent company lastminute.com, will work his last day November 12.
Vice president of partner marketing Alistair Rodger will take over at Holiday Autos from November 15.
Lastminute chief executive officer Ian McCaig said: "I brought Brian into the company because of his extensive B2B and corporate experience, which were important in terms of both bringing maturity to the leadership team and recruiting the kind of senior leader that a significant asset such as Holiday Autos undoubtedly needed and deserved.
“Brian subsequently led Holiday Autos through some of the most turbulent times the automotive and car rental industries have ever seen. Additionally, the competitive landscape changed considerably over the years with many new players seeking to challenge Holiday Autos leadership in leisure car rental."
He added: “Brian leaves Holiday Autos positioned extremely well for the future. In addition to a number of recent industry accolades and the launch of many new customer innovations, Brian has ensured that Holiday Autos will be investing in technology and partner relationships at an accelerated rate in the coming period and all these elements along with its great team will deliver continuing success.”
Murphy said: “I have been fortunate to have worked for some of the strongest, most trusted, consumer brands in the world in Hertz, Thomas Cook, American Express and lastminute.com.
“My time here at lastminute.com and Holiday Autos has been immensely rewarding and being at the heart of a thriving e-commerce business whilst leading the amazing team at Holiday Autos has been fantastic, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it.
“The experience I have gained at senior management level in B2B and B2C markets has equipped me to handle the increasingly complex and demanding challenges that face businesses on a daily basis.”
