Naked United pilot busted at airport hotel for indecent exposure

A United Airlines is facing charges of indecent exposure in full view of airport passengers and workers.

Capt. Andrew Collins admitted to standing naked at his Denver Airport hotel window while making a phone call during a layover but refutes allegations he was ‘exposing himself and his genitalia to the general public.’

"Some witnesses said I was dancing, gyrating and waving. I’m completely innocent. It’s really unfortunate that it happened at all," he told local media.

He was arrested after other United employees and a TSA officer told police he was ‘touching himself.’

The Westin Hotel room overlooks the main concourse at the airport.

According to his attorney, the hotel windows are opaque from inside the room but from the airport concourse, a passer-by can see into the room.

"From inside the concourse, at that time of the morning, unbeknownst to my client, you can see into the Westin rooms, but the distance is such that you cannot see much other than a human form. My client had a reasonable expectation that no one could see into his window. He was unaware of any people looking at him as he focused on his important phone call while walking around his room," attorney Craig Silverman said.

"I was getting ready for a shower and was talking on the phone. It was a beautiful morning and I opened the curtains to my window. I couldn’t see the terminal," Collins added.

Collins said several police officers with guns drawn came to the room and led him away in handcuffs.

United Airlines spokeswoman Erin Benson said Collins was ‘removed from his duties pending an internal review. We are cooperating with authorities on their investigation.’
