New business travel brand unveiled today
The new force in the business travel arena, formed following a flurry of deals at the turn of the year, will announce its brand name later today.
Dutch-based BCD Holdings acquired TUI’s TQ3 Travel Solutions business along with business travel agency The Travel Company in January to create what it claims will be the third largest TMC.
BCD already own US agency WorldTravel BTI, whose chief executive Mike Buckman will become CEO of the new company.
Chief executive of TQ3 Travel Solutions Marc Hildebrand, who described events in January as “one of the most remarkable days in the history of business travel”, will leave but remain as a senior advisor on acquisition projects for the remainder of the year.
The company’s executive team will have its headquarters in Amsterdam.
Other members of the team include The Travel Company chief executive Mike Walley, who will head the UK and Ireland operation, global vice president marketing TQ3 Melanie Garrett and TQ3 Germany managing director Ilona De March.
See TravelMole later today for full details of the new brand.
