Air Canada Rouge has confirmed it will operate a three times a week service between Gatwick and Vancouver next summer.
Tickets have gone on sale for the service that will start on June 8, 2017.
In addition to this new summer service, Air Canada is introducing daily seasonal flights from Frankfurt to Vancouver beginning on June 2, 2017.
Benjamin Smith, Air Canada president, passenger airlines said: "We will be the only airline flying non-stop between YVR and the two largest airports in the London metropolitan region during the peak summer travel period with the addition of London Gatwick.
"By next summer, Air Canada will serve five European destinations non-stop from YVR including two significant hubs, Frankfurt and London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Dublin, and on a code-share basis with joint venture partner Lufthansa Munich, strengthening YVR as an important hub that connects our British Columbia, Western Canada and US routes to our expanding international network."
British Columbia said it had seen an 18% increase in European visitors so far this year.
"These new flights will bring even more visitors while creating jobs and spin-off benefits in our hotels, tourism attractions and businesses," said Shirley Bond, minister of jobs, tourism and skills training in BC.
