Ryanair has unveiled five new routes to Eastern Europe.
The low-cost carrier announced yesterday that it would start daily flights from Stansted to four Polish cities from the end of October this year – Gdansk, Bydgoszcz, Szczecin and Rzeszow.
The Irish airline is also planning to launch a twice-daily service to the Slovakian capital Bratislava. It believes that because Bratislava is so close to Vienna, the new flights will appeal to travellers also keen to visit the Austrian capital at budget airline prices.
The Press Association reported Ryanair’s deputy chief executive Michael Cawley as saying: “British tourists can now discover Poland and decide for themselves what Gdansk, Bydgoszcz, Szczecin and Rzeszow have to offer without paying the high fares of LOT and EasyJet.”
The new services will bring the Dublin-based carrier’s routes tally to 229, in 20 countries.
