New HAL ship to homeport at Port Everglades
Holland America Line’s new ms Koningsdam ship will homeport at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale following an inaugural summer season in Europe next year.
The 2,650-guest ship will sail seven to 11-day round trip Caribbean cruises from Port Everglades during the 2016-2017 winter and Koningsdam’s Caribbean itineraries will open for reservations this month.
The Caribbean season kicks off with a four-day voyage to the Bahamas departing November 9, 2016 calling at Nassau and HAL’s private island Half Moon Cay.
There will be two different seven-day itineraries during January and February 2017 which can be combined to create a nonrepeating 14-day Caribbean cruise calling at Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos, San Juan in Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands and Half Moon Cay, followed by Georgetown, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Mexico; and Key West.
The ship also sails 10 and 11-day Caribbean itineraries which include port calls at St. Lucia, Barbados and Martinique.
Koningsdam is the first of the line’s new Pinnacle Class of ships which will feature dedicated family staterooms as well as accommodation for single travelers.
