New homeworker initiatives at The Personal Travel Agents Conference
The Personal Travel Agents, the homeworking division of The Midcounties Co-operative, ‘hit the reset button’ during its ninth annual conference recently as two new initiatives for homeworkers were unveiled.
A new Business Insights Dashboard will be introduced, providing easy access to information that will help agents analyse sales.
They can see departures by month and keep abreast of upcoming customer departures.
Refreshed, individual websites for the PTAs are also coming soon, with a visual look that leans towards quality and luxury.
The new webpages will be fully responsive for mobile use, contain lots of offers and travel information, and a new function on the brand website will allow new customers to find their local PTA.
The three-day conference, which was themed ‘Keep Calm & Conquer’ was attended live by over 120 agents and made available on catch-up videos for those agents unable to attend live.
The event was sponsored by NCL, Classic Collection, Scenic & Emerald Cruises, Do Something Different, Holiday Extras, Hotelplan and in-house tour operator Co-operative Holidays.
A series of virtual workshops included tips and techniques on Mindset, Confidence to Sell and Connecting with your Customers, as well as practical advice on social media, in-house operator Co-operative Holidays and Repackaging.
Business updates were delivered by Sheena Whittle, Head of The Personal Travel Agents, and Rad Sofronijevic, Midcounties Co-operative’s Travel Group Chief Operating Officer.
Two panel discussions were broadcast virtually, a Supplier Panel and a PTA Panel.
The suppliers also hosted a Supplier Spotlight workshop with their latest news for agents.
Sheena Whittle, Head of The Personal Travel Agents, said: "We couldn’t have timed our messages of moving forward and optimism better, with the lifting of many travel restrictions. The last 18 months have been brutal, but the PTAs have shown their resilience and adaptability."
