New low fares airline launches from Kent
Irish budget carrier EUjet has confirmed a raft of new routes from Kent International Airport.
Formed by former Ryanair boss P J McGoldrick, EUjet plans to serve 27 destinations by the end of the year, including Manchester, Edinburgh Dublin, Amsterdam, Glasgow, Madrid, Shannon, Copenhage and Milan.
Leisure routes include Genoa, Nice, Prague, Palma, Malaga, Jersey, Murcia and Faro. Ski destinations to be added in December include Geneva, Zurich, Salzburg, Turin and Toulouse.
The first flights are due to start in September with a fleet of seven Fokker 100 aircraft. Details of fares have not yet been confirmed.
Kent International Airport owner PlaneStationhas taken a 30% stake in the airline as its seeks to make the airport a new low fares hub.
Travel industry veteran Ron Haylock is joining the board of EUjet as non-executive chairman and has invested in the company.
