The threat of strikes by workers at Gatwick is looking less likely after the Unite union recommended members accept a revised pay deal.
A fortnight ago, Unite had said members including security staff, trolley supervisors, surface transport workers and engineers could begin strikes at the end of April over a below-inflation pay offer.
Unite is now advising members to accept a revised offer of 6.5 per cent in a new proposed two-year pay deal.
The union said: "Unite members will now be balloted whether or not to accept the pay increase, with branch reps recommending that this is the best achievable outcome through negotiations."
