New role at Carnival to boost agent relations
P&O Cruises and Cunard have promoted Alex White to the newly created position of Carnival UK vice president of sales.
White’s role will focus primarily on initiatives to strengthen travel agency relationships while also differentiating the brands and their ‘distinct merits and audiences’.
The current head of sales at Princess Cruises UK will begin his new role on December 1, reporting to P&O Cruises senior vice president, sales & marketing, Paul Ludlow.
Ludlow said: "During his time at Princess he led a sales team, which grew sales through travel agents for Princess Cruises, he played an important role in improving the commercial performance on the brand in the UK and was justifiably recognised by the industry as a ‘Young Manager of the Year’ and one of ‘Tomorrow’s Travel Leaders’."
White said: "We are determined that our new organisational structure will bring with it greater brand distinction between P&O Cruises and Cunard, supporting agents to target new customers and grow their sales with us.
"This ethos will apply to every aspect of marketing and none more so than in the sales arena where we will be looking to sell each brand on its distinct merits and to distinct audiences."
The cruise line is looking for a replacement head of sales for Princess Cruises, reporting to Tony Roberts, vice president UK & Europe.
