New Silversea ship to sail in Med

Silversea Cruises’ new ship Silver Spirit will operate its first summer in the Mediterranean in 2010.
The details emerged as part of the ultra-luxury line’s sailing schedule for next year.
The company’s five all-suite ships will visit more than 355 ports in 95 countries and islands on over 175 itineraries.
The programme goes on sale on Monday.
Following a 91-day inaugural cruise around South America in January 2010, Silver Spirit will make a two-week transatlantic crossing from New York to Southampton, including Silversea’s first call in Cardiff.
The line’s newest ship will operate in the Mediterranean between May to October, running mostly seven-night cruises.
The 540-passenger Silver Spirit completes its first year of service in the Caribbean.
Silver Cloud will be positioned year-round in the Mediterranean for the first time from the autumn of 2010 after a summer spent in Northern Europe covering the British Isles, Iceland, Norway and the Baltic Sea.
The overall programme includes Silver Shadow returning to Alaska plus nine new destinations: Le Verdon, France; Rimini, Italy; Ile Rousse, Corsica; Cardiff; Sendai, Japan; Chan May, Vietnam; Lakshadweep, India; Buzios, Brazil; and Seydisfjordur, Iceland.
Details on the 2010 schedule for Silversea’s expedition ship, Prince Albert II, will be available in the coming weeks, the company said.
Executive vice-president of worldwide sales and marketing David Morris said: "Our fleet expansion presents many opportunities for innovative deployment.
"With the addition of a fifth all-suite ship in 2010, our schedule will offer an exceptionally broad range of travel choices, including Silver Spirit’sexciting 91-day grand inaugural voyage, and the first-ever, year-round deployment of Silver Cloudin the Mediterranean."
