The Big Apple’s destination marketing organization NYC & Company has renewed a city-to-city partnership with Mexico City.
NYC & Company president and CEO Fred Dixon and Mexico City’s minister of tourism Armando López Crdenas signed the pact aiming to boost tourism between the two cities.
The one-year partnership will see the two destinations collaborate in best practices in tourism marketing and the exchange of marketing assets.
"Today, we are proud to renew our tourism partnership with Mexico City, one of the world’s great cities. New York City and Mexico City share so much in common, and it’s important now more than ever to reinforce our commitment," Dixon said.
The city-to-city partnership was first signed in 2013.
New York City will have a presence across multimedia channels in Mexico City while LinkNYC kiosks and bus stop shelters in New York City will be used to promote travel to Mexico City.
Starting on April 25, ‘New York City – Welcoming the World’ ads will appear in Mexico offering discounted air and hotel travel packages plus incentives for travel from May 1 to July 31.
Mexico City Tourism will also partner with Aeromexico on future travel packages to NYC.
