Escorted tour specialist Newmarket Holidays has launched a new group tour exploring some of America’s music cities, including Chicago, Detroit and Cleveland.

The 10-day musical pilgrimage spotlights legendary musicians with a journey around influential sites from the history of jazz, blues and Motown.

Guests experience Chicago’s blues music heritage where the likes of Muddy Waters and Willy Dixon made their names.

It includes an audio tour of Macy’s, sightseeing from the 103rd floor of the John Hancock Centre and a Chicago River cruise.

Next stop on the musical fix is Route 66, the iconic road that stretches for more than 2,000 miles from Chicago to Los Angeles

The escorted tour continues along the shore of Lake Michigan to Detroit, to the Motown Museum plus a visit to the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation.

The tour then travels to Cleveland, where the Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall of Fame revels in the impact of artists from Robert Johnson to The Beatles to AC DC.

The trip continues to Alexandria, VA beside the Potomac River for a taste of old-world America, before heading to Washington with the option of a guided tour of Capitol Hill.

David Sharman, Chief Commercial Officer at Newmarket Holidays said: “Following the success of our Elvis-inspired tours, we’re thrilled to introduce travel agents to a new musical odyssey.”

“It includes highlights that will get both music enthusiasts and history buffs dancing with delight.”

Departures are available in November 2025 and from April to November 2026, with prices from £2,995 per person including hotel stays, guided tours and flights to Chicago and from Washington DC.
