Next Generation Cruise Booking Platform Makes Debut
Plano, Texas-based CruiseLabs is launching their Funcruisedeals.us website just in time for Wave season. The site is powered by NexWav, a new rich internet application based on Microsoft’s Silverlight technology.
“The NexWav cruise booking engine makes the cruise booking process more engaging than ever for end-consumers,†says Paul Jenkins, CruiseLabs founder and Chief Technology Officer. “Customers experience a blend of steaming video, cabin descriptions and integrated deck plans in an environment that provides the richness of a desktop application delivered via a web browser,†continues Jenkins.
The Funcruisedeals.us web site exclusively promotes Carnival Cruise Lines and features a direct connection into Carnival’s inventory via an XML API. “We are working on launching additional web sites featuring other cruise lines connected directly to the NexWav cruise booking engine,†comments CruiseLabs’ president, David Tossell. Tossell, a former Director of Travelocity Partner Network, also says that a private-label version of NexWav will be launched in the coming months.
CruiseLabs was not without help in developing its breakthrough cruise booking technology. CruiseLabs leverages Microsoft’s Silverlight technology – a rich internet application technology that powers NBC’s Winter Olympics web site at NBCOlympics.com. The company is part of Microsoft’s BizSpark program and FunCruiseDeals.us was recently showcased on Microsoft’s Silverlight.net web site.
