Spanish hotel chain NH Hotel Group plans to enter the China market with a new name.
The company has launched a new joint venture with backer HNA Group to develop up to 150 hotels by 2020.
Between 10 – 20 of the new properties will launch by the end of 2016, starting with Sanya and Haikou in Hainan province.
The joint venture, called Beijing NH Grand China Hotel Management, will be based in Beijing, and will launch hotels under the ‘Nuo Han’ Chinese brand name.
The name signifies ‘a promise to meet the guest expectations and bring them a brilliant future,’ it said.
"China, the second largest economy in the world, is a fast-growing market for both international and local hotel chains. The middle-class boom with more than 100 million China citizens is expected to be the key driver of an increase of high level consumption in travel and hospitality. With its strategic plan, NH Hotel Group will be ideally positioned to take advantage," said Federico J. Gonzlez Tejera, CEO of NH Hotel Group.
