No survivors found in Nepal air crash
Authorities in Nepal say there were almost certainly no survivors in the Tara Airlines crash.
The army said the De Havilland Twin Otter crashed in Sanosware shortly after losing contact with air traffic control on Sunday.
Rescue teams finally reached the crash site and have recovered the bodies of 21 of the 22 people on board.
Rescuers are still searching for a missing individual at the crash site,” Civil Aviation Authority spokesman Deo Chandra Lal Karn said.
Passengers included a family of four Indians and two German trekkers.
The plane was on a 20-minute flight from Pokhara to Jomsom.
“Initially, the weather was good but quickly worsened. Then, we lost contact,” said Puskal Sharma, head of Jomsom airport,
The Nepal government has opened a formal investigation into the crash.
