Non-executive role for Carrick at online travel firm
Hoseasons chief executive Richard Carrick has become a non executive director of online accommodation firm Alpha International Accommodation.
He is to advise the company across its three brands, Vacenza, AlphaRooms and Transferstore, helping to devise strategies for the company’s continuing growth.
Vacenza was launched to the travel trade last year, offering access to more than 23,000 hotels and apartments in city break and beach destinations across the UK and abroad.
The company claims to have attracting the business of more than 1,300 agents through the www.vacenza.com/agents website. Vacenza.com also supplies transfers from more than 130 airports in 40 countries.
Carrick, whose industry career includes spells at MyTravel, Airtours, Forte, Saga Holidays and International Leisure Group, said: “It was a compliment to be asked to join the Alpha board. They are a dynamic and very successful online business and I look forward to learning from them, as much as I do contributing to their next phase of growth.
“The Vacenza dynamic packaging product is as good as anything in the market and should be a very attractive and profitable tool for retail agents, particularly the independents.”
Alpha managing director Jason Fry said: “He brings with him an unrivalled wealth of industry knowledge and expertise and we have no doubt he will play a major role in the future growth and success of the AlphaRooms, Vacenza and Transferstore brands.”
