Australia’s newest airline, Norfolkair, have announced an unbeatable offer aimed at attracting more families to Norfolk Island, with effective immediately, Norfolkair offering children’s rates to all passengers aged two to 17, setting a new benchmark in family air travel.
“Children are normally charged adult fares from age 12, but we’ve extended the cut-off to age to 17 for a teenager accompanied by a fare paying adult,” said Norfolk Air Acting General Manager Ewan Wilson, adding, “Child fares amount to 25% off available adult fares, delivering considerable savings to families setting out to enjoy a Norfolk Island holiday.”
Norfolk Island Tourism General Manager Steve McInnes said the Norfolk Island Government and Norfolk Air had agreed on the new fare to show it was serious about attracting families and young people to the island, adding, “There’s just so much for families to enjoy on Norfolk Island, from the delights of Emily Bay lagoon and beach to horse and bicycle tours, ‘haunted’ convict ruins, an intriguing culture, the cheapest Lego outside Denmark and very affordable family-friendly restaurants and accommodation”.
“On top of that we’re just two to two-and-a-half hour flight from Sydney, Brisbane and, from May 7, Newcastle.”
Norfolkair became Norfolk Island’s first home-based airline when it began services between Australia and Norfolk Island as a Qantas-ticketed Ozjet charter in May last year.
