Norwegian announces fleet-wide renovations

Wednesday, 22 May, 2014 0

Norwegian Cruise Line will invest over $250 million in fleet-wide renovations for 2015, enhancing food and beverage and entertainment amenities.

The NEXT renovation programme will add enhancements in line with its two newest ships, Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Getaway, said the cruise line.

New food and wine menus will be introduced throughout the main dining rooms, and the H2GLOW Party concept found on Breakaway and Getaway will be extended fleet-wide.

Norwegian will continue its partnership with Nickelodeon and plans further entertainment and interactive activities for kids.

The iConcierge app, currently available for passengers on the Epic, Breakaway and Getaway will be rolled out to all ships and Wi-Fi, touch screens and digital signage will also be upgraded.

A number of technological upgrades are planned to improve efficiency and reduce the environmental footprint.

Gas scrubbers will be fitted on seven ships to cut emissions and underwater hulls are to be coated in high performance paint.

"The youngest fleet at sea continues to get even better with our robust enhancement program taking place over the next two years, and we want to continue to provide fresh and relevant experiences to our guests every time they sail with us," said Kevin Sheehan, Norwegian CEO
