Global cruise group Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings has officially opened an office in Hong Kong as it readies for the start of homeporting in Asia again from June 2017.
Unveiling its new Hong Kong base to assembled members of the travel trade, Steve Odell, regional vice president of Norwegian, was optimistic of growth for all three NCLH brands in the region.
This latest Asia expansion follows the opening of new headquarters in Sydney and offices in Japan, India and Singapore.
Norwegian has not based a ship long term in the region for several years and last summer announced it would deploy the 2,348-passenger Norwegian Star in Singapore and Hong Kong in late 2016.
The ship heads East in November 2016 and will include the line’s first ever port calls in India.
"We are truly excited to offer these incredible new itineraries to our guests, who now have the opportunity to explore areas of the globe that we haven’t called on in many years and some that we’ve never before visited," Norwegian president Andy Stuart said last year.
