Norwegian to launch its first trips to the Gulf and India
Norwegian Cruise Line is to return to Australia and Asia for the first time in 13 years, it announced this week.
In 2016/17, Norwegian Star will sail from Istanbul, Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong, Sydney and Auckland.
Its ports of call will include Mumbai and Goa in India, Colombo in Sri Lanka, Phuket in Thailand, Penang and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh and Sihanoukville.
After spending the summer in the Mediterranean, Norwegian Star will offer its first voyage to the Gulf, leaving Istanbul on Ocrtober 31.
The cruise line has never before sailed to the Gulf region or India and this will mark its return to the Asia-Pacific for the first time since 2002.
Norwegian will also offer more sailings in South America next year on Norwegian Sun, which will visit Argentina, Chile and Brazil.
Norwegian Epic, which spends its summers in Europe, will shift to Port Canaveral in the autumn to offer Caribbean cruises.
