Not Just Travel sees four-fold increase in Christmas Day sales

Not Just Travel says it saw a four-fold increase in bookings on Christmas Day compared to last year.

Bookings to Lapland for next Christmas were up 50% while Majorca was the most popular destination overall.

Cruises accounted for 20% of all sales on Boxing Day, said Not Just Travel co-founder Steve Witt, although domestic holidays were the best sellers overall.

Top destinations:

1 Lapland

3 Spain
4 Maldives
5 Turkey
6 UAE
7 Greece
8 Italy
9 Indonesia
10 Caribbean

Boxing Day Sales:

* 20% of bookings were cruise
* 40% long haul
* 20% short haul

* UK holidays was number one destination

* Followed by Cape Verde and Turkey

* Average booking value was £2305
